Raised by a server and recently graduated from college with dreams of becoming a writer, the story takes place in 1960 Jackson, Mississippi, and follows the situation of black women working as domestics for wealthy white families. The central characters are brave Aibileen (Viola Davis) and bold Minny (Octavia Spencer). Their lives change when Skeeter (Emma Stone),them tell their story in a book. Since it was illegal at the time to read or write something that supports racial equality, servers resist the idea. That is, until the events are pushed into a corner and are able to hold his tongue no longer exists.
While the entire cast is superb, there are a few standouts. Davis anchors the film with his portrait of a woman, much more worthy than his position in life, with a world of wisdom and pain in his eyes. Aibileen body can be tired, but Davis makes it clear that his spirit is still strong. Spencer is a breakout role in Minny, steals nearly every scene she's with her courage and the comic. Perhaps it is not surprising when she says that the character is "very, very, very loosely based" on it.
Bryce Dallas Howard plays rough Mean Girl über convincing, since it involves ignorance of the nature and meaning of the law. It is a difficult part, which eliminates much. Cicely Tyson has only a few scenes as Constantine, a housewife who raised Skeeter, but not enough time for your throat up. And the performance of Jessica Chastain as Minoune employer, Celia, a fascinating mix of vulnerability, compassion and sex appeal, says the actress in the luxury of boiling this year (as seen in The Tree of Life project and five more in the box, including the upcoming Terrence Malick).
Writer / director Taylor Tate, a friend of Stockett to leave before she wrote the novel, the film guides with a steady hand. It allows players to shine and not to exploit the suffering of girls. We never see Leroy, Minoune abusive husband, but we briefly hear the sound of his violence and can fill the rest. There are a few scenes, both involving Charlotte Allison Janney, who felt a little emotionally synthesis, but generally, Taylor has designed a truly moving film,Watch The Help Movie Online.
