The most impressive Kung Fu Panda 2 is the way it is mature themes - including the fate, revenge and identity - and makes them accessible to a family, without diminishing their impact. Those who are still wondering how a goose (voiced by the wonderful James Hong) ended up being the father of a panda will laugh during the confrontation between father and son, but felt strong emotions during the flashbacks reveal that actually came from Po . The film never takes his hand and instead of leaving the question if all the viewers of the material is suitable for a family film (it is), they would rather admire his willingness to push boundaries.
Make flashback sequences, the most powerful, the animation is fantastic. Contrasting scenes set in this part of the story, director Jennifer Yuh - whose background is primarily as a storyboard artist and designer - Po has memories of his childhood played in 2D animation, removing the soft character hug the CGI, the intensity of travel to unexpected levels. While this is obvious, the film is quite nice. Action-packed moments, like when the team turns to the side of a temple down operates on an epic scale. Also contributes to the use of 3D, but unfortunately reduce the intensity of the film used to make otherwise wonderful. 3D settings and emphasizes the layer of the characters in a way that does not make them look like cardboard cutouts, but as fully formed creatures.
